With Hollywood Considering Removing Trump’s Star, Artists Plaster the Walk with Dozens of Them

As the controversy surrounding President Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame continues, some street artists descended onto the walk and plastered sticker versions of Trump’s star.

The street art was in response to the West Hollywood City council passing a resolution calling for the star’s removal.

“Keep taking down the @realDonaldTrump star, and we will further spread Trump Derangement Syndrome by installing a never ending stream of stars,” the caption reads on a video showing the placement of the Trump star stickers:

In the video, the artists surrounded the stars belongings to the president’s critics, like Rob Reiner and Jimmy Kimmel, with the Trump stickers.

“Rip up the president’s Walk of Fame star or try to have it removed — like you’re the mayor of West Hollywood or something — and 30 more will pop up,” the anonymous street artist told The Hollywood Reporter.

The artist and his crew spent about $1,000 on the vinyl stickers.

“I didn’t want to get hit over the head from behind. We thought Trump Derangement Syndrome was a joke, but I’m pretty sure it’s real,” the artist added. “If no one peels these off, they could last there for 10 years.”

The site of the real star has been a scene of repeated vandalism to the point of destruction and multiple fights between Trump supporters and his opponents.
