During a press conference, St. Mary’s County Sheriff Tim Cameron confirmed the shooter had died from the gunshot he sustained.
“When the shooting took place, our school resource officer, who was stationed inside the school, was alerted to the event and the shots being fired. He pursued the shooter, engaged the shooter. He fired a round at the shooter,” Cameron said.
The officer was uninjured.
More information has been revealed regarding the Great Mills High School shooting that occurred Tuesday morning.
“There has been a Shooting at Great Mills High School. The school is on lock down the event is contained, the Sheriff’s office is on the scene additional information to follow,” the St. Mary’s County said, via Twitter:

It has now been confirmed that the school resource officer intervened and shot the shooter. While the shooter fired backed, it was the officer’s bullet that hit him:

Before being shot, the shooter was able to wound one female student and another male student.
St. Mary’s County Sheriff Tim Cameron further confirmed the report. Both the female victim and the shooter were critically injured in the exchange.
