Though many are calling for Alabama Senate nominee Roy Moore to drop out of the race, Moore’s wife supported him and said he “will not step down.”
“Even after all the attacks against me, against my family, against the foundation and now against my husband, he will not step down. He will not stop fighting for the people of Alabama. In his words, and I quote, ‘I will not stop until they lay me in that box in the ground,’” she stated at the “Women for Roy Moore” rally at Montgomery, Alabama.
Moore pointed out that The Washington Post was responsible for those attacks, claiming the newspaper has “staked out” Etowah County.
The Post issued a story in which a one woman claimed that the judge touched her inappropriately in 1979 when she was only 14 and he was 32 years old. The candidate denied the accusations several times. But since then other two women said that they were in a relationship with him during this period when they were also teenagers.
“Consider the source,” Kayla Moore said. “They will call you names. They will say all manner of evil against you.”
She noted that the paper in 2016 endorsed Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump, and also supported Moore’s opponent, Doug Jones, who served as Obama delegate at the Democratic National Convention in 2012.
“All of the very same people who were attacking President Trump, are also attacking us,” Moore said, “I personally think he owes a thank you. Have you notice you’re not hearing too much about Russia.”
She also pointed out that her husband and Jones had some differences, like the cultural issues, and that Jones supports the right of abortion up to the moment of birth, transgender bathrooms, and gun control.
“I have been married to my husband Judge Roy Moore for over 32 years. He was a graduate of West Point, he served our country in Vietnam and he has always been an officer and a gentleman,” Moore stated.
Women who know and support Moore stood up for him as well.

Becky Gerritson, the rally and an Alabama Tea Party leader, stated, “None of us were there 38 years ago, including you” looking directly at the media. “However,” she added, “We do find the timing and the narrative surrounding these allegations to be suspect.”
Co-chair of the Alabama Legislative Watchdogs, Ann Eubank said, “I do not recognize the Roy Moore that these (accusers) are describing.”
“I’ve never heard a whisper or a rumor about Judge Roy Moore and these kinds of sexual activity, and I’ve been in Montgomery for eight years and believe me if it had been here, we would have heard it,” Eubank stated.
Suzelle Josey, who first started to work for him when Moore ran for Alabama chief justice in 2000, also stood for him.
“I would like to go on the record as stating I do not believe one single word of the allegations brought against Judge Roy Moore,” Josey stated at the rally. “Through all these years and all the close working conditions, never, not even one time, has Judge Moore remotely said or done anything that was inappropriate in any way.”
“I have found his character to be only one thing, and that is godly,” she continued. “He cares more what God says and thinks than anything else in his life.”
“I truly believe the truth will come out and will show that Judge Moore is being false accused just like Joseph in the Bible,” Josey said.
Head of the Women for Trump PAC Amy Kremer, who endorsed Moore, stated that the same tactic against Moore has been used against other non-establishment Senate candidates in the past.
Kremer connected Moore to Trump stating, “Right here in this state we have a candidate who has walked through the fire.” She pointed out he has run for statewide office multiple times over many years, yet none of the allegations came out until last week.
“You’re looking at Mitch McConnells playbook for the next several years. If there is a candidate that he cannot control, this is what’s going to happen,” she added.
Also, Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey said that she will vote for Moore.
