Parkland Student Fills School-Mandated Clear Backpack With Tampons — Here’s Why

Parkland survivor Cameron Kasky has filled his school-mandated clear backpack with tampons, seemingly in protest of a new regulation seen by many as a violation of privacy.

Kasky tweeted a photo early Tuesday morning:

Administrators at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, decided in the wake of the deadly shooting in February — when 17 people were killed — to require students to carry clear plastic backpacks.

Shortly after the policy was announced by Broward County Superintendent Robert Runcie, student activist David Hogg said he was worried the policy could constitute a violation of his and his peers’ rights.

“There are many, for example, females in our school that when they go through their menstrual cycle, they don’t want people to see their tampons and stuff,” he said in March.

Other students have chimed in on the new policy, too:

The policy was meant to make students feel safer, but all it has done is spark a debate over constitutionally protected privacy — and whether this new measure affords that right.

Well, since they want to destroy the second amendment which is there to protect the first, why are they complaining?

They should be glad for the extra protection. They want to debate over backpacks?? Someone in authority needs to put these children in their classes and tell them to be quite and do what their there for LEARN !

Put your tampons in your bra. It won’t trigger any metal detector since its not metal. They can’t search there.

Get ultra thin overnight maxi pads if you don’t use tampons. Put one in each of your back pockets. Women do that too. Stayfree seems to be the best brand. You can put them in your front pockets too but the women in my family don’t need that many.

This is just down right ignorant. What makes them think their rights are any better than other student in Florida or anywhere else in the United States? Students in Duval County (Jacksonville), Florida have been mandated to use clear pack backs for decades and you don’t see them whining about. All three of my children (now 30, 27, and 25) used clear pack backs when they were in high school and their schools didn’t have a shooting. I get it you are pissed because nobody want to give up their second Amendment right just because of some whining teenagers, but you would think those whining teenagers would appreciate anything that would make their school safer. But instead they whine about their rights. Hey, how about thinking about violating the rights of others and maybe we would give a shit about your rights being violated. Until then sit down and shut up.
